- Flowy, not flowing-down. You want fabric that has movement and falls away from the body, not fabric that pools on the floor. Rayon and lightweight cotton are perfect.
- Empire and A-line beat bodycon. A higher waistline skims the midsection; A-line silhouettes expand toward the hem. Both photograph better than tight cuts.
- Avoid stretchy synthetics. Polyester-spandex blends cling everywhere when you sweat. Look for natural fibers.
- Sleeves are your friend. They prevent bra-strap exposure and look intentional. Long sleeves in light rayon don't add heat.
- Bold prints flatter more than solids. Tropical and floral prints camouflage; solid black or red reveal every line.
- Check the measurements, not the letter. A two-size label like L/XL means different things at different brands. Every Club Moda product page lists garment measurements — compare them to a piece you already own and love.

Does Club Moda carry plus sizes?
No. Our size range is S, M, L and XL, plus S/M and L/XL two-size options and a number of one-size styles. L/XL (or XL) is the largest size we sell — we do not offer 1X, 2X, 3X or XXL, and we do not offer XS. If you need a size above XL, we are not currently able to fit you, and we would rather tell you that up front than have you order and be disappointed.
What does the L/XL two-size option actually mean?
It's a single garment cut to work across the L and XL range, which is possible because these styles are drapey rather than fitted. It gives you built-in overlap, so it is easier to size correctly than a narrow single-size garment — but it is still bounded at the XL end. Check the measurements on the product page.
Why are caftans so comfortable in hot weather?
They drape from the shoulder rather than gripping the waist or hips, so air moves and fabric doesn't stick. That's also why they read as intentionally relaxed instead of simply loose.
What's the best fabric for a flowy summer dress?
Rayon and viscose. They breathe, they drape (rather than cling), they don't show sweat marks as visibly as polyester, and they wash beautifully.
How do I avoid looking frumpy in a caftan?
Choose caftans with a defined neckline (V, scoop, or surplice), a bold print rather than a small ditsy floral, and a slightly fitted shoulder. Avoid caftans that are uniformly tent-like top to bottom.
What's the most flattering caftan length?
Ankle-length or floor-length. Mid-calf caftans can cut you off at the widest part of the calf, which is less flattering.
